I use to be able to page from my cell phone by calling the DISA number when we had the embedded ASU analog trunks by dialing the access code and then *12. It still works from internal phones but not from the DISA trunk.

Once we switched to an embedded PRI I have not been able to get it to work from the DISA. I checked the COS of the PRI/ ISDN trunks and ensured that the paging options were enabled but I just get a fast busy.

Could someone help suggest what I may be overlooking?

Any help is much appreciated.

Not all features are accessible from DISA. I may simply be that PRI trunks are not allowed to Page.

You can work around issues like this by creating loopback trunking that connects to internal stations (ONS). In this way you can acccess the trunk via ARS and the trunk picks up dialtone as a local internal extension. Anything the extension can do can be accessed.

could be simply interconnect restriction.

What type of paging do you have?
We may have assumed you're paging through the phones or using the external page port.

Sometimes external page systems are connected via a trunk port.
If this is the case then check the COS and COR of the PRI trunks. In COS be sure that the Public to Public Network connections are allowed.

Also check your interconnect at nytalkin suggest.

And, then again, it could be that PRI's just aren't allowed to do that as kwbMitel suggest.

Expanding on the interconnect restriction. If the paging is connected via a trunk then you may need form 30 interconnection allowed between the trunk types. Previously it may have worked because the trunk types were the same thus no interconnection required.

If paging is not via trunk, interconnection is not the issue.
