I have an nVidia Quadro NVS gfx card in a machine in a lecture theatre. It has a standard monitor on output one and a projector on output 2. Most users are happy with the standard 'dual view' setting to allow Powerpoint to project onto the projector, while the standard monitor displays notes etc. However other users would like the 'clone' view to be enabled so both screens display the same. I cannot seem to find away to simply switch between the two. If I set up nview profiles it moans that I need to change the display mode before I can change to a different profile. Can I set up something simple?

I have another machine with a Matrox Dualhead gfx card, which does exactly what I want - the standard display mode is the 'extend windows desktop' onto second monitor type setting, but pressing Ctrl-F1 (hotkey I setup) it instantly switches to clone mode, without requiring a reboot. This is all I want to do with the nVidia card, is it possible?

Cheers.

It is possible to do it on Nvidia's card
In the nView display settings (driver 44.03) go to tab "hot keys" and find the entry for "next display" choose a hot key for it ... and that's it
there's an antry for the "clone mode" too

This doesn't seem to work, as I want to switch between clone view and dual view. When I try and assign keys or whatever it says I can't switch the mode as it is in the wrong display mode.

I am using much later drivers than 44.03, I think they are 53.xx. Perhaps I'll try with some older drivers...
