Anybody know the procedure to switch from using a feature key server on a Windows machine to using a serial port dongle? I'd like to VM the machine that's got the key server running on it (it's my VMPro server), but would prefer to switch to using a serial port dongle before I do so I can turn off the feature key service.

Thanks,

Geoff

you will have to speak to your BP and ask them to transfer the licences onto a serial dongle (If you can get one?)

Besides, I dont see any reason why you cant run keyserv on the VM anyway? there is no difference to the IPO and you should be able to map the USB device to the VM anyway?

Yes. If you want to switch to a serial dongle you need to have the licenses transfered and that needs to be done through a BP.

OK, thanks. My BP sent me a dongle - just didn't know if there was anything else I needed to do other than to plug it in and stop the feature key service on the VMPro server.
