Could i just ask if people could give a few notes on the PROS and CONS of using a switchboard.

This is so i can make the decision on whether to continue using it or not, because i have the design laid out and the switchboard took me a few hours to do and was really useful, i was just thinking that, since im having users with groupings i will be using separate forms for them to enter data in, and not let them run the command button, but there is a button for new customers on the main switchboard that will need to be locked out for anyone but admin... so is it easier to just have a message box pop up when loading the form and leave the button where it is?? Just thought it would make it easier if the option of clicking it wasnt there.

If you are going to have different levels of activity for set groups of users, then you may want to create your own switchboards. Reason being, you can customize them for each group level. If you have taken a look at creating groups of users then you can designate which forms and data that each group is allow to add, edit, or delete. Now with doing different switchboards there might be a little more at work here because from what I have seen, Access only lets you default to one page that opens in the beginning. And then it dawns on me; you may want to have one switchboard with access to the different levels of users for each button. Then the users would login from the main form(switchboard). Depending on their level that would then be transported to another form/switchboard that is customed to the type of user they are.

If I take a peek in your Windows, to fix a problem, does that make me a "Peeping Tom"? Hmmmmmmmmmmv [pc1][shocked]

I cant do this one with workgroups can it still work with using a variable for group type??
