exist any manual with helpfull switch commands ?

They have all the cisco command guides at cisco.com just do a search for the particular switch you are looking for .

My cisco6509 switch is showing "Vlan1 is down, line protocol is down". What the problem is?plz help.......

You need at least one active access port or trunk port carry vlan for the layer 3 SVI to come up .

Nooblet---the no shut thing comes into play if the vlan is administratively down, not just down.

Also, rahulman---start a new thread, and give viper a star!

Post a sh run in your new thread also---there are several reasons why a vlan could be down/down...

The switch needs to be powered on...
