We are getting ready to install a SWCP. My understanding of this is that we need TAPI and TAPI will be running on its own server. I believe I have to program associated sets in the PBX on units 16 through 31 of a digital line card to get this to work. Documentation talks about programming these as 2616's with key 0 a SCR key 1 TRN, and key 2 AO6. The problem I have is this is a new Succession 4.0 PBX and we only have 3900 series and IP phones. PBX software doesn't allow TRN or AO6 to go on any key except 17 and 18 respectively. Any ideas on how this works in my situation? Thanks in advance.

We operate M1+Symposium+TAPI 3.0.0.8c with 3900series and i2002, i2004 phones. So if you have TAPI 3.0 it should work also with your Succession. To create phone line in TAPI you just have to choose type of phone, ACD key, SCR key, and tick TRN, A06 ..features (not keys).
BTW we operate also 2616's with TRN on key 4, scr on key 8, A06 is not programmed on any key and everithing works fine.

Thanks johnjose,

Either you are really far ahead of me, or I'm even more lost than I thought. Probably the later. I'm talking strictly about PBX programming, nothing in the servers. Have no idea what BTW stands for. Please keep in mind your talking to a old phoneman who is comfortable with a butt set in his hand, not a computer mouse.
I thought TAPI used these associated sets (software only phones) I'm trying to progran in the PBX to originate calls into symposium express. Then the answering ACD agent gets credit for answering the e-mail in the symposium express reports. Am I correct or not? Thanks

Hey johnjose and anyone else reading this.

The post above from Leecer is actually from me "MUGGER10". I went to tek-tips on a co-workers PC and forget to log out and log back in as MUGGER10. Sorry for any Confusion.
