Hi there- any ideas on this would be appreciated. We are upgrading hardware that our SWC 4.5 software is running on. We have rebuilt the new server and are attempting to restore the database from the old server to the new. Both servers are running Win 2003 SP1. We have backed up data from old and restored onto new server following the Nortel technical documentation. The SWC application on the new server functions, but it appears that the data did not restore. We cannot get Access and partition mgmt users, access classes, partitionc, etc. to migrate over. Like I said we have tried several times to restore the data following the Nortel guide. Anyone have experience with this that could offer any help? Thanks all.

Is the data you're trying to migrate that voluminous? I usually just rebuild the user access and partitioning data. It is not that bad, and given the problems you're having, it may be less effort.

how did you do the backup on the old server, if you just copied the old files as it states in the NTP's from their orgional locations and placed them in the same locations on the new server, it won't work. the reason for this is the ADAM instances cannot just be copied from one to an other.

look closer at the NTP's and you will find a second way of doing the backup using windows backup wizard. This way works
