What are the proper steps to make a private realtime display public in the web client.

When I try to make a private display public I come up with the error "The new display name has invalid characters. Only English characters,....."

I've tried everything. Any ideas?

When you make a public display "private" there is a default name given at that time, will it take this display? or are you trying to give it a new name? It can't take spaces or special characters except for the underscore.

Private display name: (works fine)
John_private_display

It won't save the default name:
SYMP_John_private_display

Or if I try to change the public display to:
John_public_display

There was a Design Pep for that issue, but it is included on the latest...

rob71ert: Do you know in which PEP the fix is included? I have the same exact error on a new site which (supposedly) has the latest PEPs loaded. I have checked all the readme files for web client 4.5 PEPs, but don't see this issue noted.

It's part of SWC 4.5 SUS0602. Make sure you have that installed
