MY
do anyone know if SWC will generate more than 400Mbytes traffic? we were informed by the network team that our server is generating so much traffic but there are no abnormalty in the SWC and no virus had been found during the scan.

I am using unicast....because multicast not available on the network...

It sounds like you have answered your own question. How many web clients were running ADD or RTD?

I thought RTD could be either uni or multi, but
ADD is multi-cast only, isn't it?

We do not have ADD. :) So you mean if it is running on Unicast, generating more than 400M of data is normal?

In a Multi-Cast setup, all web client users are "listening" to the same multi-cast stream, thus the traffic is marginal.
In a Uni-Cast setup, each web client user will have their own data stream coming from the Web server.
So, I would say yes. I know that we have looked at the saizes of our various multi-cast streams and seen them as large as 1mb so depending on the number of users you have, I could see it taking a heck of a lot more band-width. Though 400 mb does seem rather large.

unicast is a bandwidth hog! that's why you should use multicast OR limit who has access to RTD's.
