Has anyone ever seen the error "unable to read the registry" during the iceadmin password change section of an SWC install?

Yes, I had similar problem. Its not critical. For solving do the next steps:

1) Open regedit.exe on SWC server
2) Add new registry key: "HKLM\Software\Nortel\WClient\LDAPAccess"
3) Add new registry string value: "HKLM\Software\Nortel\WClient\LDAPAccess\Server Name"
4) Set newly added string value to "localhost"

This string indicate to asp-script where LDAP-server located. By default, when registry value absent, localhost used.

Thanks for the reply. As it turns out, your registry hack is a solution, but to a Windows 2000 issue. I did not state it, but I am at Windows 2003.
As it turns out, the registry error is a known error and the Nortel response is.........wait for it........

We know, just ignore it!!!

... this registry hack is applyed under Windows 2003 :)
