Swapping TR016 Brd with Merlin Messaging Module

I'm upgrading a Merlin LegendR5 to Magix (with clamshell) and also replacing a TR016 Card with the Merlin Messaging Card. Can I use WinSPM to upgrade the data ( saving me alot of time) and what does the Merlin see a Messaging Card as and if different than a TR016 module, do I need to do any reprogramming before or after the automated upgrade.

Use the latest WinSPM to convert your translation file when you upgrade and all will be fine. Upgrade first, then replace the card. The MM is seen as an 012 card, so your extensions will be bumped down by 4. If it's the last card in the system, no problem. If it's like the second in a three carrier system, you've got some work in front of you! Don't forget to do a board renumber after replacing the card or the system won't "see" the MM. Then, go to work.......

Thanks, using WinSPM-7, will convert/restore then install mm, then board renumber. The mm will replace a 016TR in the last slot of base carrier (no expansion).
