I have 2 users that are switching offices but want to keep the same extensions. How can I swap the TNs since I can't get at the wiring closet to just switch the wire pairs? Both phones are 2616s.

Thanks in advance.

Either just print out both the phones and copy each others' keys to each others' TNs or get an unused TN and move user A to unused TN, move user B to user's A original TN and move programming on unused TN to user B.

So I can just use LD11 and do a change and then change the Key00 and 01 to the DNs I want them to now have? Will this effect any other phones that might have either of the extensions on them? Our receptionist for example.

If your receptionist just has these programmed as exts then there will be no problem. If receptionist uses BFS keys just swap the BFS keys on receptionist phone.

i use a empty tn and move a to b, c to a then b to see.. i get this request 10 times a week with no ill effect. you can do it with just an echg, but with a mov i don't have to think about dig pck adl's that are programed ssc etc..

I'VE BEEN DOING MOV COMMANDS FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS WITH THE THIRD TN WITHOUT CORRUPTING SOFTWARE

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

I'm not as technicly adept as most of you seem to be. For us beginners - I would go into LD11 and do a change. Answer yes to Echg and then use "mov" to the spare TN? I have never used the "MOV" command, only PRT, CHG and NEW. Is MOV used in the same fashion?

Sorry for what are probably easyy questions!

There you go all moved :)
So you just used TN 4 0 1 4 for a min as a space holder.

Hope this helps.

correct.. not a chg but a mov type=2616 etc,, then the tn of the station to move and the next lint is the to to move it to.. done to do a swap between 1 1 1 1 and 2 2 2 2.. use a vacant port 3 3 3 3

mov
2616
1 1 1 1
3 3 3 3

mov
2616
2 2 2 2
1 1 1 1

mov
2616
3 3 3 3
2 2 2 2

done.. all numbers and features and station type if need be have been swapped.. and your the hero, because you did it and didn't need to pay me the 300 bucks i need for my starving kids.. (btw they are in their 40's)

what if i have 60 TN's to swap, is thier a script to assist or command?

yes, a script would be easy enough. i'll post one to mov stations. are you just moving stations from card a to card b? if so you can mov a complete card, with one command

not moving from card a to card be neccessarily but between floors ie on the same card from one card to another basically switching between TN's

no prob, i'll write a short script that lets you use an excel and paste the moves in.. that is the way i would do it. 1st use the alt m to define alt 2 as a paste key.. if you can get that done, i'll write the script around that

i have the spread sheet and i have the DN and now building the TN

ok, i'll post the script in the morning

Please please do you have it its about 7 EST time my time and would really love getting it done before tomorrow morning if possible.
please

the site was down, i tried to get it up early. this is built to use meta key alt 2 and a paste key. define that and it will run forever, i usually change station types as i go. doing the 16's then the 8's or 3904's you can save a copy for each type of set.. any problem i will be on line, this am..
Code:
proc main
loop:

   transmit "disu "
   metakey alt 2
   waitfor "REQ: "
   transmit "mov^M"
   waitfor "TYPE: "
   transmit "2616^M"
   metakey alt 2
   waitfor "TOTN "
   pause 4
   metakey alt 2
   goto loop
endproc

by the way, if you tile your windows you can alt c the 1st tn, then alt c the second withen the 4 second pause, slow it down or speed it up, by adjusting the pause timer

sorry John i am not that advanced, could you please provide me instruction starting what ld i go into and then what to type in, i am assuming ld 20 then what commands.

yes ld 20, then start the script...AFTER you set up meta key alt 2, under view, click meta keys. then alt m, click on key 2, on the 1st line, use the drop down to chose MENU command, then the next line will allow you to use the drop down to pick Edit-Paste Text... then the script will run.. you need to add that script to your aspect directory. just copy it. do an alt f3, the click new, paste it in and do a save as.. then click compile.. you can run it from the drop down window, you can put it under a meta key, or you can click tools scripts run and select it..
