What will be needed to swap out an embedded voice mail card on a 406 conrtol unit?

Some knowledge of why you're swapping out the embedded voicemail card would be a good start. All you've given us is a single sentence question.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

People call in and try and leave a message, they hear a beep and are then cut off and are unable to leave a message.

The card is full.
Delete all messages and try again.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Is there a way to tell if the card is full and if we do swap out will we need to upload any files to the card

How do you tell if it is full, where do you get the files needed for the new card

rstel, only once i am going to tell this so read carefully :)

Open manager and go to the embedded file management.
Login and check on the right side how much % is used.
Open system status and login and check how many messages are on the card.
Tell the users with the most messages to delete them.

Attach a serial cable to the IP Office and your PC
Start putty 38400,8,N,1
type AT <enter > you should get a prompt back
type at-debug
Use one of the below commands:
command [tab][tab][tab] parameter[tab][tab][tab] [tab][tab][tab] purpose
ivm-mbox-show[tab][tab]- [tab][tab][tab][tab][tab][tab][tab][tab][tab]Show mailboxes
ivm-mbox-show[tab][tab]nnn [tab][tab][tab][tab][tab][tab][tab][tab]Show contents of specified mailbox
ivm-mbox-clear[tab][tab]nnn [tab][tab][tab][tab][tab][tab][tab][tab]Clear specified mailbox
ivm-msg-del[tab][tab][tab] nnn dd/dd/dd hh:mm:ss [tab]Delete specified message
ivm-msg-del-all[tab][tab] - [tab][tab][tab][tab][tab][tab][tab][tab][tab]Delete all voicemail messages

A simple mind delivers great solutions

So if he deleted the messages while he did not want to do that then it is your fault Intrigrant :)
I was too lazy to search for this info.

It seems to be better to use the at-debug option as delete the files using the embedded file manager.
Best is if each user did erase his/her messages once in a while.

I did not suggest to delete them from the embedded file management.
I think it is not even possible as it will be read only :)

Thanks everyone for all the info. I will try and convince the customer to delete messages before replacing the card.
