I was wondering how many SVCHOST.EXE instances I should have when running WinXP Pro with 1 account logged on. I hit ctrl-alt-del and check the processes and I have it running 5 times: 3 are Username "system", 1 is Network service and 1 is local service. 1 of the "system services use 15 megs of memory and the others not too far behind.
The reason I ask is ofcourse resources availible for me to be able to free up.

Thanks in advance to any resolve/help/answer for this.

I am just an old Paratrooper and an avid hardcore gamer too which is gonna get me divorced =) I do not know C++ or any of that other stuff due to being in the Army for 14 years and am too lazy after long houred days to learn.
