We currently use access code 9 to get an outside line.
We have recently deployed wireless devices with SIP Clients.
When the users receive a call from the outside, the call is displayed as a 10-digit number. When they press the button to return the call, the call fails because it is sent without a preceding 9-1.
Some more background - we use 5-digit extensions and have 40,000 DIDs that associate with these extensions.
The extension include 3XXXX, 4XXXX, 5XXXX, and 7XXXX.
I cannot wrap my head around the programming that would be needed to allow a user to either reach another extension, i.e. dial 35255 and also allow them to dial a long-distance number directly, i.e. 352-555-1234.
Any tips would be appreciated.
