i have a I series handset connected to a SV9300 and dont seem to be able to get the log out button to work

i have CM15-143 set to allow for IP station logout for service restriction 15 (default

the extn is in that service restriction class. the function key F0B39 is set on key 7 (F0#39 when you type it in on the PCPro)

when i press the key 7 nothing happens.............

does the log out function work when the system is set for automatic MAC or does logout simply automatically log it back in viua the MAC address. ive played with cm15-480

interestingly when i do the same config on a IVS2, the key press of the logout button responds with a RESTRICT message and it doesnt log out
cant see anything else e.g. Cm08 that would prevent it from happening

What sometimes gets me is the actual location of the buttons. You may think button 7 is "there" but it's actually a different button on the phone. I programmed a 32-button i Series digital phone on an SV9500, and entire rows of buttons showed up in the wrong place. In that case, you can press button 7 all day long to log out, it won't. Try putting a DND button right next to the log-out button (onto button 6 or 8), and see if you can put the phone on DND with the expected button. Or you may end up finding this DND button somewhere else on the phone. At least, with this, you can verify that you are testing the right button for log-out.

IP Station Logout
STEP1: Go off-hook or press Speaker key.
STEP2: Operate either of the following for logout.
– Enter the access code assigned by CM20, A239
– Press the logout key assigned by CM90, F0B39
– Press the soft key assigned by CM9A
NOTE: Do not execute the logout operation from the IP Station in Automatic Login mode (authentication
by MAC address) for normal operation, except when replacing the IP Station or changing
the way of ID registration of the IP Station.

never realised you had to be off hook to effect log out. Ill try that when im next back on site this weekend - thanks

dont remember that being the process when i was first playing with IP stations on an IPX240 years ago. I had one IP station at work and another one at home on a VPN. great for working after hours from the comfort of ones own loungeroom

just a question on the notes, so if im using automatic operation, then when i press log out, wont the phone come back to the log on screen?? so that when i next want to log in i just enter the extension number

the scenario is a part time office, when the person is there they want to receive telephone calls, and when they leave they log out and the system diverts calls to the voice mail. they dont want the phone ringing or being answered on the site when they are not present.
