Telstra (sip provider) report
Connect to Telstra but the connection from the IAD to the PABX, saw floods of ISUP (below example) traffic busying out the lines and causing issues for call handling.
This might be related to dial peer configuration.

Is there a differrent config from a Vine to OneAccess ?

The Vine 2000 box converts the Sip Trunks into ISDN lines, then it is connected to the systems Basic rate trunk card.

First does it work at all? BRI lines (I believe) are polarity sensitive. Usually 2B+d per channel. So many questions but it was working so the issue must be config or hookup by new carrier.

Yes there are differences, Have you configured the OneAccess NTU? Try asking here for an Australian reply.....

Are you using BRI or SIP as that NTU can do both

If SIP there is a Script creator that will help you in another forum on that site.

There are Telstra SIP normalization scripts that need to be run on the PBX if you don't use that resource.

SIP

The Australian track might be the way to go - Telstra are trying to replace the vine2000 as we have been having robotic voice and drop outs.

Multiple AccessOne units have turned up but they haven't been able to get them going
At the end of the process we just plug the Vine2000 back in and every thing works again - except of course for the original issue.
Our PABX person is away at present - so I was just chasing up if there was a configuration that had to be done on the NEC to accommodate the AccessOne unit as opposed to the Vine2000.
Tesltra seem to think its a drop in replacement - but that doesn't appear to be the case.

I think I might have to wait until the pabx fella gets back and he can talk to Telstra

Thanks

Sounds more like the config of the OneAccess. Do you have either an SI or CU number and password?

Oh and where are you in Oz?

Ya, if it worked before and the new box doesn't logic points to the new box.

It is a drop in replacement but Telstra don't configure the IAD/ntu for you as they don't know your PBX details which is why I am asking if you have a SI or CU number and password, you can't configure the OneAccess without one or the other! (I am an independent installer of these things and have installed hundreds of them)! It has probably been provisioned on a temporary new hundred range (I say temporary but you will probably get to keep it in case people have saved the temporary number) which may also be causing an issue and your current numbers will be migrated after successful acceptance testing.

My customer and I are in Darwin.
I do the IT support but have steered clear of PABX/phones.

The customer has had the robotic voice/stuttering issue for a while and we ended up in the situation where PABX people said Telstra and Telstra said LAN pabx issue.

I ended up moving the entire phone system to a separate LAN just to stop any finger pointing at QOS etc.
Once I did that and the issue remained, Telstra monitored the calls and detected no issues - assume from router?

I and our PABX man suggested that left the VINE2000.

We have the passwords for the PABX.

Our PABX guy is back from holidays Monday, so after he clears the backlog I will get him out when Telstra are doing their bit.

Telstra are also waiting for a protocol analyzer to arrive to do some testing. - not sure why.

thanks

Telstra techs do not configure the OneAccess unless they send out a subcontractor like me. if you don't have a cu or si number, you can't configure the OneAccess. The PBX may temporarily need a different 100 number range programmed in the DID tables in order for incoming calls to work during the migration. Do you have a user name and password for the OneAccess? Do you have the portal URL for setting up the OneAccess?

If you have QOS issues and you are using a BRI 99% it's the carrier. I am assuming no VOIP phones but regular TDM phones. If you are ONLY getting these issues on outside calls I mean, c'mon it has to be the carrier.

@Coraltech The OneAccess is carrier agnostic. You can connect it to any provider's internet and it will provide Telstra SIP. Telstra went down this track to get out of providing a pure SIP service. I have on a number of occasions installed this on a Netgear Nighthawk (4G router) with no issues. It may be that the current install is having codec issues or the carrier for the current setup has codec issues. Simple fact is that this does not reflect on the OneAcces install. It isn't a case of just plug it in and away you go. Happy to help the OP but not locally, we are in the same country but about a 3 hour flight away from each other! If the OP had posted on the link I gave, I could have offered a mobile contact but he hasn't bothered so maybe I am off the hook of helping him!
