Does anyone have the pinout for the NEC "SV 4PORT CA-A, CBG-006271-001 G" octopus cable? I need to adapt the RJ-21 from TYP1 of the octopus to a DB9 for the COM port of a voicemail server. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Let me clarify:

I have a full wall (4 MG) IPX that was converted to SV8500. There is a single connector on the CPU, the octopus cable mentioned plugs into that, and breaks out to four RJ-21 ("50 pin Telco Connectors") in the first MG for the MAT, VM, SMDR etc. serial connections.

I can convert RS232 from DB25 to DB9, but I need to know what pins in the RJ-21 are used for what RS232 function (TX, RX, DTR, etc.).

MAT, VM, SMDR all of these applications are connected via IP on this system. However, I am still looking for the pin outs. I need to dig up some older system manuals.

<chuckle>
Connection via IP would have required NEC's and the University's lawyers to agree on contract language. That didn't happen.

I appreciate your efforts.

Time to get out the soldering iron and break out box!!
