SV8300 Battery Removal

I would like to remove the old original batteries in my SV8300 1U and 2U chassis. Removing the batteries won't negatively affect the system as in loosing it's programming, correct?
 
Those batteries are to maintain system operation, not system programming. You can carefully do it on line, but the safe way is to power down. I always suggest making a back up of the database as a safety precaution.
