We are looking at an Algo 8301 to use for paging ( which according to what Algo says ( should work as long as the SV8300 and our DT730 IP phones can handle RTP Multicast. Is anyone aware if that is possible or what needs to be done to make it work? The only other stipulation was that the SV8300 support 3rd party SIP device registration.

The SV8300 does support 3rd party SIP. I have built 100's of 3rd party sip stations and they work great. As far as multi cast, the SV8300 supports an internal and external zone paging from the SV8300. This is done by setting up different internal zone paging groups. The groups are up to 16 stations, and can combine 5 of the zones. I don't see why the 3rd party SIP extension you use to support the paging device you want couldn't be included in one of those groups. Let me know if you want to know how to set this up, and I can send you the programming.

This is for the 3rd party station: There is also a 16 IP station system limitation on paging also.
3rd party SIP extensions are required to be assigned in the main site.
If you dont see EEC001 thru EEC032 assigned in command 1001. 1 SIP handler is required per 3 3rd Party SIP call (Concurrent calls)
1001>XXXX(available LEN)>EEC001 thru EEC032
I usually build 10.
0B101>33>5070 (3rd Party SIP Port)
BC05>01>0 (authentication per call not provided)
FOR ToS ONLY: Use this command
BC06>01>0-7 priority (enter 1 digit)
FOR DSCP ONLY: Use this command
BC07>01>46 (46 represents Expedited forwarding)
1004>XXX(available Port)>Station Number 1-8 digits (assigns the station Number)
1D14>Station Number>0 (PHS)
1D15>Station Number>05 (Standard SIP Terminal)
1D32>Station Number>02 (for Digest Authentication)
03 (Not Provided) Try this first.
Lookup:
1202>Station Number>(usually 15)
Assign:
15123>Result from above>0 (PHS Name display allowed)
2B00>Station Number>1234 (password for SIP Station)
EC6>0>0 (backs up to local processor)
EC8>00>0 (broadcasts database to the remotes (if there are any))

Reset the System (required for the SIP handler build, TOS Setup OR DSCP setup)

I'm not sure yet. How would we do both?

Assign:
08>158>1 (provides the system with all zone paging)
Look up:
1202>station numbers to access paging> (usually 15)
Assign:
15049>2 digit result from above>1 (allows all zone paging to the service feature class)
For paging group 00
5600>00>1st station in paging group 00
5600>01>2nd station in paging group 00
thru
5600>15>last staion in paging group 00 (the second data is a serial number in the paging group (00-15) Just count up.
For paging group 01
5601>00>1st station in paging group 01
thru
5601>15>last station in paging group 01
Repeat 5602~5604>00~15>02~04 for the remaining users in the paging group.
BE SURE YOUR 3rd Party SIP extension is in one of these groups. This will tie together the overhead and the speaker phone paging.
200>access code 1-4 digits>A164 (assigns the access code for internal all call paging)
9000>station number, 2 digit button number>F1299 (Assigns the button to phones that will use all call paging)
Any questions let me know.
Your done!
