Hello everybody,

We have an SV8100 onsite and are having a sound problem. From inside the network the sound over the phones is fine, but when you call in from outside and get the VRS, it sounds somewhat distorted and echoey. I don't have a lot of experience with PBX systems but I am able to log into the web interface and change settings. Our connection to the public phone network is by twisted pair if that helps. Is there a codec we need to change? Any other ideas?

Thanks!

A codec mismatch is possible. However you need to provide a clearer picture of your connections and what technology you are using.
Is the incoming call on a PRI? through a router?, on an analog trunk? Are the incoming calls coming in from a IP phone? Cell phone?
Is the 8100 IP enabled? Is there a IPLA card installed?
Is the system and the VRS card up to the latest firmware?
