Hi all,

I have a issue that calls often drop. At first I thought this was a issue with the VoIP ata's or the internet connection. Now it seems to be a problem with the SV8100 because with a telephone directly connected to the ata the drops don't happen.
What can cause this? It happens on different moments, sometimes after 30+ minutes but yesterday I had a talk with a friend and it happened every time after a few minutes. (but not after the same amount of time)

I suspect the ATA is spitting out something that the NEC is interpreting as call disconnect. Telephone in the ATA won't detect that.

Why would a telephone in the ATA not detect that? And which settings in the SV8100 could I tweak so it doesn't think there is a call disconnect?

Your first question begs the question why would you think it would? Fascinating.

Is it only one ATA and one trunk port causing the issue? Move it. Test.

Tested it on 2 different ATA's, happens on both and on all trunk ports.

I ticked 14-02-12 off now, Ill let you know if it worked. Can I expect problems with disconnect when this setting is off?
thanks for your suggestion.

Ok, first results are no more disconnects. But didn't have many long calls. One was more then a hour, worked fine.
As predicted by you I get problems with disconnecting, especially with a trunk to trunk transfer. If it weren't for the disconnect timer on trunk to trunk call's the line would stay active.
Is there anything I can do to make 14-02-12 work without having random disconnects?

No I was wrong. Can't make a trunk to trunk transfer without 14-02-12 on. Strange enough it was on. So I'm very curious how on earth I didn't had call's dropped and why the trunk to trunk transfers aren't disconnected properly. Must be another setting I changed?

Alright: Good news: no more call drops. Bad news: still problems with disconnecting. Weird thing: 14-02-12 is ticked on?! So should have no problems with disconnecting (but should have problems with call drops). Are there other settings where this is set?
