I have inherited an SV8100 which I have setup successfully with a range of handsets, and 2 ISDN lines using DID. Is there any way I can forward unanswered calls from any of the DID numbers (normally going to ring group 1) to an off premise number (a manned out-of-hours answering service), and if so how?

There are a number of options with the DID translation tables. However they are somewhat confusing to work with. You might be better off calling in a tech that is familiar with it.
There are some documents at that may help you.

check your ring groups. Nec have a downfall of calls to ring groups

maybe use virtuals

Easiest way is to create a Speed dial for the number, remember what bin/speed dial number it is.
Then on target 3 of the DDI Routing Table (guessing target 2 is for IRG group) put in 1000 = to bin 000 if its in another bin then 1 followed by its bin/speed dial number.

Will also need to enable trunk to trunk transfer.
