So this system was installed by Telco about a year and a half ago. They will not come back to service the customer, typical. That's how I made $$ for the last 25 years, providing customer service for all of the abandoned Telco Nortel customers. Now they are selling the SV9100s and doing the same thing. Problem is, I don't have the passwords yet. working on getting those.
Just found out the model is: DZV (XD) W-3Y So is the process the same? I tried Menu 96 yesterday, but that did not work. There is a menu button. Programming for the system has to be done at X301, correct?
But I guess that depends on how the original tech programmed access.
Which port on the system do I connect to with my PC if I cannot get in thru the telset. Just need to verify.
Menu 96 works on an sl1100 system. FEATURE + 6 on an SV-9100. Programming is done with either PCPro, WEBPro, or through a telephone. Telephone programming on that system is more difficult than using PCPro or WEBPro. Your PC connects to either the customer LAN (if it is connected to their network, or directly through the IP address on the LAN jack or if they have a IPZ card through the VoIP jack.
Ok, I got in through Web Pro. It seems that my version of PC Pro is not compatible. I got an error of INVALID VERSION. But Web Pro works. So the major problem is that they have about 30 phones that can NOT DIAL OUT with a 9. I looked at every single Class of Service and Toll Restriction program and table and they are the SAME on every single single line set in the system. (again, this is a small hotel, about 85 phones). I can't figure out what the hell is going on!! The other 50 plus phones can dial out and they have the same exact programming.
help!
Is it possible these phones are programmed to grab an outside line when going off hook? Have you looked at MB 15-01-02? Can you dial station to station after going off hook? Are the phones in room cut off?
15-01-02 is automatic trunk line seizure. With this checked you get an outside line by lifting the handset, not internal dial tone.
With the Hotel/Motel package, you get features like, room cut off, or Check-in check -out status which may place the station into a restricted state so it cannot dial out. Try dialing 638 + extension to check it in, then try calling out.
Use the reports option/non-default value in PCPro to compare your database against the default database. See what is different. That may help you troubleshoot this issue.
I went back to this job and got more info. YES the phones that cannot dial out on a 9, CAN dial the 4 digit extensions of any other phones. When I dial 9, I can only dial 2 digits, any digits, and I get a fast busy. NO I cannot dial out directly, same symptom, I am not getting an outside line. Again, this is happening on about 40 phones. For some damn reason, I could not get back into the Web Pro this time. But I was busy checking room phones and then had to leave to another job. I will try again when I go back to check what you suggested in the last post.
The staff says they do not ever use anything like you mentioned as far as the hotel/motel features. And 638-XXXX does not do anything. Fast busy if I remember correctly.
One thing I have to double check, it seems like I was able to dial a toll-free number on a couple of phones that would not dial local numbers with a 9. But no long distance numbers worked. I will double check that though.
Thank you for your help so far.
How do I change the room status exactly?? It appears that is the problem, but in program 42-02 the room status is not accessible, as far as that drop down menu. I have enabled X301 to be able to change status, but I cannot find the exact procedure to change from VACANT to OCCUPIED.
In 11-14 Service codes for hotel
*641 is change room status
*638 is check-in
*639 is check-out
I only have one phone enabled for this permission.
What are the exact procedures, at that set, to change status.
It appears I cannot do it from the system programming???
One more thing. All the digital office sets are set to NORMAL
all the room phones are set to HOTEL, forgot which program that was in. I think it was in 42-02.
