I noticed the file:

F:\95dcfd7c72ab86ca25dde7b70259\download\catsrv.dll._p

and

F:\a3303cf1f5c9d50736c5997b\download\callcont.dll._p

on my data partion F:. The problem is I don't know how they got there, and I'm a little leary of what they contain.

I've heard a little buzz about how they might be files from a Windows Update, but I don't know what they'd be doing on F:.

Anyone had a similar issue lately?

Since catsrv.dll is used as part of Com services....it probably came from Critical update MS04-012....Cumulative Update for Microsoft RPC/DCOM (828741). If you check out the General Information\Security Update Information of any Critical update you can always see a list of files that are installed. Why it ended up in that partition location I have no clue but you should find it in %system root%\system32 also.

Maybe right-clicking the unknown file(s), selecting properties will give some information on date and version.

Failing that "google it"
