I've set up the SUS (Software Update Services) server but when I try synchronising, it fails with the error - Failed to download from URL ' (Error 0x80190197: HTTP error 407. Proxy authentication required.).

On checking this error from the Microsoft Website, it is saying that I should install SUS SP1 which I am already running.

Please advice on how to resolve this.

Also in that site, there is only the client tool for Windows 2000 or higher. Does anyone know where I can get the one for NT 4.0 (workstation and server) clients

Regards,

Wycliffe

I've tried that and it's not working. I actually installed the SUS with SP1.
Any other suggestion?

I got the same error and was unable to find a workaround. I just removed SUS and gave up for now.

Hi,

I have read your problem but I see that it requires a proxy authentication: do you specify the right account in Set Option section?
Instead I have the following problem:
' (Error 0x80190190: HTTP error 400.)
I see that if I go in Internet Explorer and I put manually login e password on the proxy I can, after this, syncronize my server. The problem is that it must be a service and schedule the synchronization so I can't put manually login e password every time!

Thanks!

Marco
