Surfboard cable modem

Does anyone have a cisco router connected to a cable modem? I'm having trouble creating a connection to the internet.

Hi,

I've got a Pix, not a router connected to a Motorola Surfboard Modem (UK, Telewest Blueyonder ISP). Works fine. Are you using a straight through or X over cable ?

Which router are you using?

Can you show your config?

You can try "ip address dhcp" on the ethernet interface connected to the modem

Hey, I'm going to try using my pix 515E. I wasnt' getting in lights with either the x-over or a Cat 5 cable. I have not tried a straight through.

I want to connect my pix which would be the ideal situation that way I can put my web server on a DMZ.

Colin how is your pix configured?
