I have a report which I would like to suppress the following:

Before:

Group 1 Group 2
GF2 ABC 123
GF2 DEF 123
GF2 DEF 456
GF2 GHI 123
GF2 GHI 456
GF2 GHI 789

I would like these results
Group 1 Group 2
GF2 ABC 123
GF2 DEF 123
GF2 456
GF2 GHI 123
GF2 456
GF2 789

Please note Group 1 header is supressed, as I would like the header and on the same rows as Group 2 header.

I hope this makes sense.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, TIA.

Did you try to format field and choose "Suppress if duplicated" from Common tab?

I tried that first it didn't work, it does nothing everything remains like it was before.

Create a running total that will count each field in the Details section, evaluate for each record and reset on change of Group1.

Place the running total in Details section of the report.

And then conditionally suppress the header of Group 1:
if {#RTotal0} = 1 then
false
else
true

That would work but each group contains thousands of records. Thanks for trying though.

Place the runnning total in any of the group headers.
