Hi,

I have a report which linked with 7 subreports. Basically, group header 1a has all the subreports embedded and the data from the sub-reports are passed to the formulas I created on group footer 1a. The subreports itself are suppressed, but not the group header because if I suppress the header, the values won't get passed to the formulas. Is there anyway I can suppress the header? The reason is when I export this report into excel, I have blank rows in front of each detail.

Thank you for your help.

You aren't actually suppressing the subreports or the shared variables would not pass. I'm guessing that you have suppressed all sections within the subeports. You should also remove the borders and format each subreport by going to format subreport->subreport tab->suppress blank subreport. Then in the section expert of the main report->GH1a->check "suppress blank section". This will make the section disappear in CR--however, I'm unsure about whether this is also true upon export.

You are right. I didn't specify it clearly. I already removed all the borders and format from each subreports, and I suppressed all sections within the subreports. This is where I'm having some formatting issues.

Since there will always be a value coming from those subreports and those values will be passed to my main report which I will handle some calculations. If for example, some calculated numbers are higher than 50%, then I will not need to see the data from footer 1b, so I will suppress them from my main report, which it works perfectly. However, I will also need to suppress the header 1a together with footer 1b. If I also suppress header 1a, i will lose the shared values that are being pass to 1b to begin with.

Can you give me some suggestions? Is there anyway I can suppress the header and still be able to pass the values to my main reports?

That is what I explained. It sounds like you did not take the last two steps that I mentioned in my previous post. You have to format the subreport to "suppress blank subreport" and format GF1a to "suppress blank section". Then the entire GF1a will disappear. This assumes you have a version of CR that allows you to format the subeport to suppress if blank on the subreport tab--what version are you using?
