Suppressing Group Header in Subreport

I have a report (main report) that contains a subreport. The subreport has a graph in the footer...the graph is all I want to see on the main report. So I've hidden the group header and detail sections. I want to be able to double click on the graph in the main report and have it open the subreport with the group header showing so I can drill down to the detail. How do I accomplish this?

If I conditionally format the group header (to a white font) instead of supressing the section, I can still get the hour glass on the subreport (once I have double clicked the graph)...the problem is, the user would just have to move around the mouse until it showed the magnifying glass. I would like the header to appear instead. I tried setting the drilldowngrouplevel function on the header, but it doesn't seem to recognize -1 as a setting. I'm not sure what else to try.

I'm using CR 10.

When you say footer, I'm guessing that you mean to say group footer?

I think that you have advanced functionality in CR 10 for drilldown, but in previous versions you would place some field alongside your chart and then click that field to drill-down.

yes, I meant group footer. sorry.

the group header field to drill down on is the Company Name. Since my main report actually contains multiple subreports for the same company....they don't want to see the comapny name next to evert graph. So I can't just place the field there. My interim solution is that I created a formula with the text "Drill Down" and placed it in the group header. they are ok with seeing that next to every graph, but would prefer to see nothing. They want to be able to double click on the graph, then basically be in drilldowngrouplevel = 1 when the subreport appears. As it now, they see the exact same graph, the "Drill Down" label, and then have to double click on the "Drill Down" to get the data. Is there a way to skip a level?

Graphs aren't data elements, so they can't click on them.

Perhaps you can overlay the graph with some transparent text?

It may be that the first level is simply getting into the subreport. I really try to avoid subreports because of the poor performance, so others may have a better solution for you.

That's not the part I'm worried about. I CAN double click on the graph....because I'm actually double clicking on the whole subreport. I just want to know if I can skip a level so they don't have to double click on the graph (on the subreport) then double click on "drill down" to get to the data.
