Suppress Section 1

Hi All,


I have one report with sub report. And when I am passing the sub report data in to the main report using shared variable the report is working.

But when I am suppressing the section where that sub report placed the shared variable are giving 0 values but I want to suppress that section.Because sub report is placed in GF gap is more. I can make subreport cangrow option is false.. but the GF section is reapeating..

Any help is appreciated.

You must always identify your CR version when you post. In higher versions, instead of suppressing the subreport object itself, you can suppress all sections within the subreport, format the subreport itself to "suppress blank subreport" on the format->subreport tab, and then in the section expert, format the section containing the subreport to "suppress blank section". This will be the equivalent of suppressing the subreport object, but will allow the shared variable to pass.

Thanks for the reply...

But I do not want to fully suppress the subreport.

I have a parameter in report for

1. Details and summary page
2. Summary page only

When user selects 1 , all sections to be displayed
when user selects 2, only Report Footer which contains summary data should be displayed..

For the RF, I have a data passed from GF(Where the sunreport is placed).

What I did was I just made subreport's cangrow option false based on condition if it is 2 then false.

But I get all blank spaces for each group...

Is there anything I could do to like just display the RF (But the shared variable should work)

It worked Thanks a lot for your suggestion.

Conditionally I suppressed all the sections of the sub report using shared variable when user wants only the summary page. and followed your hints.
