everytime i issue,

copy file h:\dtr\*.* to c:\dtr\*.*

foxpro asks me if i want to overwrite the file, how do i suppress the prompt?

TIA

got it with set safety off!

Are you saying you got the prompt with SET SAFETY OFF? You probably don't really have it set off. SET SAFETY is one of those commands that's scoped to the datasession, so if you set this in the global datasession, but you're in a form with a private datasession, it's not set how you think it is. To test this, put a WAIT WINDOW SET('SAFETY') right before you COPY FILE command.

Barara's suggestion should work unless the file is in use by another.

Have you checked for that?

i'm sorry for the confusion, i had the suppressed the prompting by putting "set safety off" at the beginning of my code.

thanks to you.
