I am using CR 9 Professional. I am reporting off a Visual Fox Pro database using an ODBC connection. I have my report sorted by state, then lastname, then firstname then ssn. My report contains 8,000 records. I want to only see records where a client has 2 or more DIFFERENT SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS. I want to suppress all entries where the ssn is the same, the firstname, lastname, & state are also the same. For example, I will see 3 records for John Smith because he has 3 claims. His records do not have errors, as all 3 claims have the same SSN, last name, first name, and state. So I do not want to see him. I have only one claim for Sue Black so only one SSN is listed. I don't want to see her. I think I have developed a mental block.

Group by name, and insert a distinct count of SSN by name. The go to report, edit selection formula, group and enter a formula:

DistinctCount({SSN},{Name})>1

This will return only those names with more than one SSN. No supression formula needed.
