Anyone out there reached the 999999 Number limit for Suppliers....and if so how did you get around it?
Thanks

If you have 999,999 suppliers, the 6-character limit is the least of your problems...or you must have huge gaps in the numbering sequence. try finding those gaps and set your last supplier number (SCF) at the beginning of one of those gaps. You might also want to archive those you are not using.

We have legitimate reasons for having that many Suppliers and we have Archived. Since my query we have developed a method that solves the problem very well.
Thanks

OB1too,
Since you developed the method and got us very curious, you might as well share it with us?

Just another note as Archiving has been mentioned in the context, Lewchow apparently suggesting that the archived id's could be re-used? I believe this is not the case: archived supplier id's cannot be re-used by assigning new suppliers to them and it would be a grave mistake to do so, even if MIMS allowed it to happen.
