How do I relate superloop numbers to physical slots on an 81c?

group zero shelf one, counts left to right 2 units per slot, giving you slots 0 to 15, and 16 to 31 on shelf 1, the reason it gets a little fuzzy is a network card uses 4 time slots, if you have loop 0, 4, 8 and 12, that group could not have another card of any kind. but if you delete the left most card you could add dual pri's, 0, 1, 2 and 3.. if you go to load 22 and print cequ, you'll get some idea of your switch lay out. number of groups, a major concern. and slots you can actully add. if your not sure about ava space, post the cequ and one of us will explain how to trnaslate it

I'm not sure how to reconcile the loops / slots with the physical location of the conf/tds cards, whose loop nos. I know and where I can see the physical card.

Any help would be appreciated.

your 1st card is the old loop 1 terd your supporting, the next card is a network card, has 2 places to plug a cable in the front, if your uising both, that gives you loop 4 0 and 4 1, if your using just j2, it's for 4 0. the next card looks like your pri card (loop 12) then your 1st conf/tds. . the next shelf, 0,1, starts with another network card, using post 16, because that is a network card it takes slots, 15,16,17, and 18. it's not a double wide card, but it takes 4 slots just the same, in load 97 (supl and xpe) the phyiscal location is defined as left or right hand side of those two slots. the next 4 cards i see are both dual pri, 20,21,24 and 25. i would have put those next to each other, and saved 24 for a possible network, the next card looks like a misp, (bti switching, vidio conf).. the last card in that shelf would be the confer/tds. that will give you a fair start, when i 1st started, i came in off hours and disl'ed loops and conf cards to locate the counts. it wasn't after an install that it made semse. remember, just to make it a liitle more fun, msdl cards can plug into any slot, now you have to tell software which network, but the device number is a switch setting only. don't let those confuse the issue, i usually build one loop on the right and the next on the right, leaving a otherwise unusable space in my shelf, the msdl only get power off of the backplane

i'm sure some one else can help.. each card slot on the 81 has two addresses, starting with 0,1. count down to the left, like i mentioned, once you get a few labels on then disl a pri or two, off hours to get a complete picture. i'm guessing you work in a call center, or gov site, no one else could afford that many trunks for so few phones
