Havent worked as an admin in ages, can anyone tell me how to turnoff auto discovery on NNM 6.02 running on HP-UX?

also has anyone used NNM for a microwave environment to monitor rf radios???

I use NetView, but I believe this option is exactly the same in OpenView.

Pull-down: Options --> Topology/Status Polling Intervals: IP

Uncheck: Discover New Nodes

Hi, from NNM, Options->network Polling Configuration:IP->Configuration Area -> IP Discovery

Hope this helps,

Setting up NNM to properly manage rf radios, may depend on obtaining MIB's from your vendor, generating an application to check on the status of the rf radios and send SNMP traps to the management server perhaps, etc...the are many possibilities.

Let us find out which one suites you the best, ok?

we've done monitoring of non-snmp and non-IP radio's. It's a custom option, but as they support IP and eventually SNMP, it is easier.

I monitor Communication Nodes. It is easy since the vendor of the nodes provides a NNM that rides on top of HP NNM. As VLAN has stated, check with the vendors and see what information you can gather from them.
