I have a Sun Ultra 60 running Solaris 8, and have changed the host and IP address. I have made the changes in the /etc host, hostname.hme0, nodename, /etc/net/ticortsord.hosts and /etc/net/ticlts/hosts files. I have also issued the ifconfig plumb and up commands, and it works, but when I reboot it, I get the following message:

ire_init: no dlureq_mp
writing to routing socket: Resource Temporarily Unavailable
add net default (local_host_id) Resource Temporarily Unavailable
in.rdisc: No interfaces up.

I then have to issue the ifconfig up command again once the machine has started to get it to recognise the network.

Any ideas?

i actually had this exact same issue. i ended up replacing the network card and was good to go. this was on a sun ultra5 that we still use as a license server. hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip. I've tried doing this already, with two different cards and still can't get it to work.
