Hi,

I just got a sun Enterprise server 220R from a friend. its pre-installed with solaris 10 i believe. i dont have a keyboard hooked up to the server directly, however, i am using a null modem and connecting vi HYPERTERMINAL in windows xp home computer.

The issue i am facing is that as soon as i start the server,
it goes to the 'OK' prompt, where i cant execute any unix commands.

How can i get to #(root) prompt in my server?

i have tried using ctrl+break or ctrl+pause in my keyboard as an equivalent to STOP-A, however that does not work and the OK prompt stays.

Please advise.

thanks,

sam

The OK prompt comes from the boot prom. Type 'boot disk' and watch as the OS comes alive.
