Hi,

I wonder if any one has used COM from a Java app on windows out there ??.
Specificaly I have to use the Sun VM and I would like to automate the MS word spell checker.
It's a breeze from native windows but I need to know if it's a non starter from Java.

Thanks very much in advance

If you know COM, Jacob is easy to use. A word of caution:
if you are trying to go to deeply down the COM road with
Java, you will find that it isn't worth it. Try it out, create a test case, and if the path looks a little too dark and overgrown, don't go down it.

Thnaks guys I'll look at these straight away.
A collegue of mine has written a Java app to produce some documentation for a meeting we run. I wanted to add a spell checker, I've coded up a script to automate the MS one and it works ok, just need to intergrate into his app now. I'll let you know how I get on.
again thanks
