There are some very good books for SCJP. One of them is Sun Certified Programmer & Developer for Java 2 by Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates. Kathy is one of the co-developers of the Exam. one note. This books is useful only for the exams. It assumes u have some basic knowledge of coding in java. More about this book and many more on
