The Blade 1000s' have a problem where the screen will go dark. You can gain remote entry so the system isn't down.
One user said he thought he saw the screen flash "lost signal" before the screen went dark.
S85power has been moved to s85power, powerd killed and CDE pwrmgmt disabled, also all power packages have been removed.

Has anyone seen this problem and have a fix.
Thanks

Hi pineywd,
Does the screen go blank after you enter your username and password?

The users are running jobs and they could be at their desks or it can happen during the nite or over the weekend.

you can always get remote access (telnet, rlogin) but you have to reboot to get the screen(s) back. These system have two monitors ( one Creator card and one Expert3D card)

I have more than 6 Sun blades doing this!
Thanks

Hi pineywd,
I had encountered a problem where the screen used to blank after logging in from the CDE login screen. It was because the file $HOME/.TTauthority had been corrupted. $HOME/.dt/errorlog had an entry "dtsession: unable to start message server - exiting." I deleted the .TTauthority file and logged back in. Everything got fine then.
Hope this helps,

Krish
