Hi all

I am new to Extreme and am trying to stack 5 switches. It appears that the units are on differnet XOS versions, 3 on 12.0.3.16 and 2 on 12.5.1.6 so they will not stack correctly.
I have seen 15.1.1 on the net, can i upgrade directly to this version or do i need to go up in stages.

all help is much appreciated.

I just upgraded my stack from 12.0.3.16 directly to 15.1.1.6 and it worked just fine. If you have Ridgeline it's super easy to do it that way as well. If you make one of the newer ones the master, will it work that way? Just so you can upgrade the stack all at once instead of having to do them individually.

Are you manually setting up the stack or using the "easy-setup" command?

The EXOS Concepts guide will explain all your stacking questions.

Extreme's recommendations for stacking
They all need to be the same XOS version.
The XOS version needs to be installed on the same partition for each switch.

The most stable stacking XOS I use is 12.5.4.5 patch 1-18
