Hi -

I have a timesheet that calculates the time in and out and totals the hours worked (formatted as [hh]:mm). There are also fields where an employee will put in whole numbers for hours (i.e. 3 hours personal, 4 hours vacation, etc.) that are formatted as a number. I need to total the manually entered hours plus the total hours worked. for example

..................................................................... [(hh]:mm) / (number)
TIME IN / TIME OUT / TIME IN / TIME OUT / TOTAL HOURS / SICK TIME
8:05 AM / 9:10 AM / 1:20 PM / 6:05 PM / 6.00 / 2.00

Total Hours + sick time should equal 8 but I am getting 2.25.

The times in and our are all formatted using a 7 minute rounding rule calculation and custom formatted as [hh]:mm.

Any suggestions on how to get this to sum correctly? I'm sure it's something simple that I am overlooking. Thanks for your help!

Laura~

I figured it out. I knew is was something simple.

=SUM(Q23:Z23)+(M23*24)

Sum of manual hours entered + calculated time * 24.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi,

From your example, the Total hours based on your two in/out records is 5:50 (5 hours, 50 minutes). Using Structured Table notation...
[tt]
[Total Hours]: =[TIME OUT 2]-[TIME IN 2]+[TIME OUT]-[TIME IN]
[/tt]
Have no idea what your formula refers to, as your example made no reference to columns and rows.

Hi Skip

Sorry about the lack of info:

=SUM(Q23:Z23)+(M23*24)

Q23:Z23 are summed the manually entered hours for sick, vacation and personal time etc.
M23 is the total calculated hours from the times in and out.

Okay.

What you have from the AM/PM time values entered on your sheet is an actual value in units of days, formatted to display AM/PM time. For instance, 8 hours is 1/4 of a day. So if you have 8:00 AM, and change the Number Format to General, the value displayed will be 0.25.

So to convert DAYS to HOURS, you multiply ( DAYS ) * 24 ( HOURS per DAY ).
