Hello,

I have a Sum field that displays the total of a collumn. Unfortunately, the total is not correct. It is off by a few cents. I sent the field for two decimal places but it is still incorrect.

For example, if I manually added the collumn it's 45.67 cents but the report rounds off to 45.69. Any ideas?

Whaatup! Hey what is the Field size, format, and Decimal place say in the general tab when you look at the table in design view in access. Still access 97 right? When you right click and format the field in crystal, does it use Custom Style or did you select one of the formats there like [-1123.00]Also what is the grouping and in what section is the column field you are trying to summarize.

Much love to my bro's in selma!

Adam

This probably means that the fields above it are being rounded for the display, but that the actual number is being used in the summary. For example:

actual display
10.0089 10.01
10.0089 10.01
13.4649 13.46
12.1949 12.19
45.6776 45.68

If you want the displayed totals to be summed, then replace the individual values with a formula:

round({table.number},2)

Then insert a summary on this rounded value.

Hey dude.. you remember my handle..

It's weird, because use used the format to round the number to two decimals but crystal is still not totaling the field correctly. For example:

There are my amounts:

100.00
100.00
100.23
100.44

The total is 400.67
but crystal displays 400.79

When I format the field to show four decimal points my amounts are

100.0000
100.0000
100.2343
100.4444

The total is 400.6787
But crystal displays 400.6789

Any help, thanks.

BTW: Nice to see you dude.

Note that the formatting is for display purposes only, not for calculations, so if you want to sum the rounded amounts you will have follow my earlier suggestion. It is not that CR is calculating incorrectly.
