I chanced upon the referenced thread as this same issue was occurring on my machine. I eventually suspected memory pressure was the issue, so I closed out my open apps, rebooted and voilà, my sums came back.

In case anyone runs into this issue (I wasn't able too see the responses from Duane in the referenced thread, perhaps it was mentioned there), memory pressure or some form of OS contention would be something to consider as the cause, and a reboot as a solution.

Cheers,
John

'Disappearing' calculated fields have been documented pretty much since AC2010 was released. Whiles the functions causing the problem appear to vary, from one report to another, the trigger has been discovered to be boxes that are kept up and running for extended periods of time, so the fix is to do just what you did...reboot the PC.

I understand that Microsoft has a hotfix for the problem, but not running 2010, I don't have a link for it...sorry!

Missinglinq -

Thanks for the confirmation. As an intermittent MS Access developer, your forum contributions here (for this particular post), and elsewhere, have been invaluable to me through the years. Many thanks for all you do!

You're most welcome, John! Are y'all completely dug out, now, or are the remains of your 'winter wonderland' still lying about? [upsidedown]

Surprisingly, our Himalayan clone experiment has made a hasty exit - just a few vestiges left. But certainly a winter to purge from the memory banks! [frosty]

It reminds me of those nature shows where you see the first signs springtime life after a brutal winter -- a bit of running water here, a few shoots of vegetation there.. still waiting for the wildlife to come back (except for the ever-fresh evidence of Canada geese)... I digress, but very glad to finally get some warmer weather and precipitation in the form of rain : )

We actually had two separate 6 inch snow falls here, three weeks ago, or so, after flowers had started sprouting, and they're all in full bloom, now! Mother Nature is amazing, at times! We have so many Canadian Geese, in residence, that I sometimes think I'm living in Richmond, British Columbia...instead of Richmond, Virginia! [smile]
