Looking for a couple new books to teach myself some more about Visual Basic / Lisp programming. I'd like to get more familiar with the way these programs interact.

I'd prefer one that is specifically for Autocad, already have a few of the basic VB texts. I've already ran the "hello world" program, etc.

Anyone have a favorite author? Favorite text?

Maybe something with a listing of commands, examples of how to access the ACAD database and pull information from it...

Beginner texts or something intermediate. Thanks!

Let me preface my opinion with saying I am instructor and teach people both basic and advanced features of Autodesk products. I have seen a vast amount of different training books. In my opinion I think the help file is far superior to any book you can buy. For example in the Help menu (F1), go to the setion called Command Reference. Click to expand the letter H. Expand till you reach the word HATCH. Here you have three tabs on the right pane.
1) Concepts - explaining what and how the command works
2) Procedures - step by step explanations that you can follow
3) Commands - All related commands

The help file goes into much greater detail than any book you can buy and the best part, ITS FREE!!

**Learn the aliases, and system variables also.

I hope this helps.
