I have been using a software to protect my exchange and found out that it doesn't offer the flexibility to apply policies to specific users or mailstores so it is either "enable" or "disable" a filter for the whole crowd which makes my job more difficult, wastes my time, and end up loosing efficiency.

which product are guys happy with to stop spam and viruses and you would definitely recommand?

I am running Front end/back end exchange 2003.

thanks

Postini works great (it's a hosted product).
The only drawback is that you won't be able to specify the mailstores, however, you can easily organize your users within the Postini interface to suit your needs.
(It does not read AD hyerachy, however, so if you wanted to match your AD scheme, you may need to do some work).

Content filters and other settings can be applied in a hyerachical view tho (you just can't import your AD setup).

Thanks guys. I will check your recommendations and get back to you if I have any questions.

Also MXLogic.com (hosted solution which is excellent) - generally cheaper than Postini. Let me know if you need a referall and hopefully better pricing.

HOWEVER..that can't be the only solution. We have to run AV inside exchange to protect the store - we use McAfee GroupShield for exchange. Works really well.

We do not run AV on the server OS per Microsoft recommendation.
