could you please suggest c# and visual c# books for a newbie? preferbly the ones u've used urself.

I really like Wagner's "Effective C#".

It's not for newbies, but it teaches you good habits that will launch you into non-newbieness. ;-)
 
Non-newbiness - hahaha

I am a graphics guy. I have come to like "Windows Forms Programming in C#" by Chris Sells. I find it provides a lot of concepts that go above and beyond typical data patterns and design.
