Here's the scoop:

I am a vb programmer that knows nothing about email. A friend called that has a small business and said that their three computers are asking for passwords today when they try to open outlook express.

This is what I am getting from them. They have three computers. They are networked. They think one of them is the main computer. They also say they have a "server" upstairs which they are not sure what it is for. A consultant tends to it but they cannot reach him.

Yesterday OE was not asking for passwords. They don't think the consultant came in and changed anything. Is there anywhere they can check or set something so it doesn't ask for a password?

sorry for the maybe stupid hint, but when it happens here, it simply means that the Windows Account Password has expired... So people are still logged, the password expired whilst the suer where logged, and that way they loose network access and are prompted for a password when opening O or OE.....
Hope it helped?
