Everthing on a W2K3 server is taking many many times longer.

Logon -- enter password, press enter, wait 6 minutes for icons --- click icon, go get coffee, come back, wait another 2 mins and then it works.

Any ideas where to look as there is nothing in event logs ?

What is the size of your user profile? Are you storing large documents on the desktop?

Couple of thoughts. When did it work correctly last? What has changed between then and now, installed any new software, installed windows updates, update any drivers? Is DNS functioning correctly? Did you try a reboot? What do your system resources look like, plenty of RAM available, hard drive space issue? Did you look at task manager for a rouge process consuming all the cpu time?

User profile is tiny.

New software was installed & seemed to work until a reboot, but this has since been removed completely.
DNS looks OK.
Server has been rebooted.
Free space and memory galore !!!
Task Mgr shows System Idle at 99% and only occasional jumps, like opening services.msc or eventvwr !!!

Also have logged on locally & it still doing it. :-(
